MGT 791 - STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS

Course Objectives:
This course is designed to enable the student to learn practical adaptive strategies for informing and influencing others that they can apply in their position as a manager or supervisor. Topics to be covered include: communication styles, adapting personal communication style to a situation, techniques to influence others, and using communication to enhance morale and productivity.

Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:
1. discuss strategies for strategic communication;
2. identify personal communication style;
3. identify barriers to communication;
4. discuss techniques to adapt personal communication style to that of others;
5. explain how to deliver and receive clear, concise communication; and
6. explain how to use communication skills to influence coworkers, team members, leaders, customers, and subordinates.
